First, to me, the terms "unresponsive" and "loose" are almost opposites: Is the problem that the car doesn't want to turn in or is the problem that the tail seems about to come around? Second one "test" that is almost too obvious to mention often doesn't get done: Have you bounced the front corner of the car that would be to the outside on turns that you're having problems with? (For those keeping score at home, a hard turn puts a lot of side-force through the outside front strut and can blow a seal; after that, the car will not turn in, because there's no compression damping any more.)
