Replacement Struts

What do you guys do when you need to replace your struts? I decided to take a look around to see what was offered so that I would be prepared when I need to order struts for myself. But to my surprise I cannot find anything!

I swear I saw Bilstein HD shocks being offered on TireRack.com before... but now they seem to have disappeared from that website too. So what are you guys doing who want to put replacement struts on your cars?

How come people aren't making struts? Does the aftermarket assume that anybody who wants to replace the OEM struts will get coil overs???

From the factory you have two choices, KYB and Bilstein, nothing wrong with either. If you want but can't currently get the Bilstein HD's, send in a set of worn out factory Bilsteins and have them rebuilt/revalved to HD-spec. Otherwise, find a set of low-mileage used KYB or Bilsteins. I personally have a set of 5k mile KYB's in my attic to replace my factory KYB's if/when they wear out.

But how come there aren't more options available besides rebuilding your old ones?

Companies besides KYB and Bilstein must feel the market is too saturated already between the two available shocks and aftermarket coilovers.

They may be right... most people seem to upgrade to coilovers if they do anything... it's just frustrating for a person who actually wants to buy struts.

This is my daily driver... so I can't let my car sit for a week or so while I ship the struts off to a company to have them be rebuilt.

Are yours worn out? Find a nice used low-mileage set on here. No down-time is exactly why I have a spare set sitting in my attic; saw a mint set available locally and snatched them up.

I see people talking about rebuilding the Bilsteins, but can you rebuild the KYBs?
