No excuses here. Had Volks for years got sick of worrying about them. Sold them bought Rotas and pocketed 1,000.

I'd CAN easily buy another set tomorrow if I really wanted them but honestly will never own another set.

I've already destroyed 2 Rotas from being ran off the road they held up very well bent to **** but did not crack. 500 and two spanking new ones at my house in 2 days . I couldn't have even replaced 1 of the Volks for that.

Like I said never again.

I am however looking to pick up a set of X MR wheels. They look great on the CT9A's

That's pretty much how I am. I'm in North Dakota. Winter is 8 months out of the year full of sand and salt and such. Makes no sense to me to buy a set of volks for 4 months out of the year and then have to spend another $1500 on a winter set-up. That'd be over $5,000. I picked up a set of Rota Torques in Hyperblack, wrapped them in Falken FK452's which are 265/35/18 for summer and just use my stock wheels (not tires) for winter. I spent $2,000 for the Torques, Tires, Moutning, Balancing, Lugs and that was shipped! Plus another $800 for the winter tires. Thats saving over $2000.

if you regularly damage your wheels, then get a Rota. If you do take care of your car then get Ray's.

Rota's like fake ****.

First and for most. Rotas are Rotas and if you like them its fine. NO problem with that. The problem when people try to justify they purchase with down talking the original counter parts One reason or the other. Doesnt matter.
My tought:
i do rally, i have speedline corses now ( which also have a cheaper or copy cat version). I do have the original set what i did use for the very first rally , that was in 2009. I have two sets of wheel, one for a rain tires , and one for the dry.
Both set has literally no structure damage , besides the scratches , from the tight down straps from the trailering, and from the brake dust, also some chips from the rocks, this is 3 years later ...
Not one wheel has a balance weight on it, and the wheels are running perfectly fine. No steering wheel shake.
That for a proof, anyone can see and come over to take a look at them. Also you can see in the inside video of mine, when i drove a two years old wheels at the Mt Washington race in 2011. That set of wheels been a crash when the suspension gave up and we runned into a pump house Also if it still must i take him around. ( Max 3 person all together ill give out ride in town, if this gets out of control for some reason, 3 person should be enough to proove my point ... LOL

I drove Enkei's - Volk's and Gramm light's for years, no **** happened with them, in the tri state area where roads are ****ty. Any one who lives there can back me up on that. An i had a stiff suspension. + track days included. I had a big accident where my Volk (one ) get completely destroyed, but that wheel hit the hughe tree and came into the car pushing the roll cage and bend the floor -pushed the pedal to top of each other. The wheels stayed together but broken and bended. No part was missing ergo unwanted flying object. LOL

You just said you already damaged two of yours Rotas. Versus you just worried too much about Volks and sold them for a price you even pocketed $1000 when you bought the Rota. Excluding the two replecment since then , you had to buy due the damage they suffered. So you sold the Volks in good shape. Same person same car.

Oh about the Fake ****... Everybody likes them i think, but you still know they are fake.... The real ones always more exiting , also looks and feels better with a same shape and condition.
The reason we like them all including fake ****, because we are all dogs.... LOL

Yea some a-hole was in my lane. Was either head on or off road. I chose the latter.

Happened to find a huge ****ing rock and both pasenger Rotas bent to ****. Never cracked though so I'd say they held up very well.

Yea I had the Volks for years prior. Loved em but worried about theft or a situation like above. That would have been a 1600 dollar replacement. Nothing bad here to say a out any Volk/Work wheel they cost what they cost for a reason and there is no disputing that they are gorgeous, strong (forged), and well just plain better.

I'm actually looking to score some X BBS's. Hopefully score a set this winter

Still cannot discriminate against any ******* though except saggy lopsided ones LOL

Friends don't let friends buy Rotas.

Doesn't have to be Volks either. There are plenty of options cheaper than Volks that are vastly better than Rotas. Enkei, Work, AME, SSR, Advan, etc. etc. None of them cost that much more than Rotas are and are significantly better in quality and have actual engineering behind them. Rota and other counterfeiters engineering consists of nothing more than "Hey, it looks good, so it must be good."

I really don't get the price increase Rota has seen in recent years. They just aren't worth it.

We should start a fund; a nickel for every time it's said.

You mean the kind that allows for TUV approval for some of the line and JWL VIA certification for every wheel? They seem to have that covered.

I don't think you have ANY clue what "engineering" is.
