RS VS The MR
Ok there are a lot of things you guys need to consider before buying a new Evo
Because If I had to do it all over again I wold Get an RS
Even Now the RS is the lightest in weight and overall faster stock than the GSR and MR. Just ask your self what are the things that are missing on the RS that you really need.
#1 you have to have AC. (All 05 RS Evo's come standard with AC)
#2 I know you've got to have a CF Wing
#3 Power windows and Locks (It's an option that can range $600 to $800)
Power mirrors?
well when was the last time you changed the position of your mirror
If you really need it get some really nice carbon fiber mirrors
The stock radio is ok??
But most are going to replace it anyway.
That means you can get a stock radio for cheap (My friend actually gave his away). Or you will replace it with a fat *** system. (the RS is prewired).
Even with the essential upgrades you will still be cheaper and fast than the GSR and MR.
You might have enough money left over to paint it any color you want.
Hey that my two cents!!
But if any one is interested let me know and I will make it happen for you

Hey and lets me know what you guys think

$1200 installed for the CF wing? WTF, the wing costs $500 and you're telling me installation costs $700? It's just 4 crew holes with crews!
You're forgetting about the suspension setup. All 3 models offer something different for the buyer.
RS- Track car/took out all the fat of GSR
GSR - Semi Track car/daily driver car
MR - Track car/ comfortable daily driver car.

I'm extemely happy with my RS. I'd like to have power locks as it is a daily driver (passengers never remember to lock the doors.) I'd like to have cruise control for the 100+ mile interstate runs. I would have ripped out the stock audio to replace with better stuff anyway.
Keep in mind that I gripe about my 911 because it has a sunroof, power windows and other useless weight adders.
I'd like to have a hybrid MR/RS-an RS with ABS, JDM yaw control, ACD, and the cool BBS wheels. I can do without the wing, audio, and ridiculous vortex generator. I understand the science behind the vortex dealie, but more aero gains would be had by cleaning up the undercarriage.
Better yet, I'd like to have a Lotus Elise with a 4G63!

RS also lacks the SAYC2. Does it have the ACD?

I know it has the ACD but not sure what SAYC2 is please explain
Super Active Yaw Control 2
JDM Evo 7s introduced the AYC on the GSR model
ACD (Active Centre Diff) splits the torque front and rear
AYC goes further to split the torque left and right so the outer tyres get more power when taking corners. Works in conjunction with the ACD to get better traction around corners
SAYC was introduced in JDM Evo 8
Tweaked to SAYC2 in JDM Evo 8 MR
Track times on the MR GSR is faster than the MR RS, I believe.
