The best way to increase fuel economy is to take off the turbo and put a simple header and exhaust in its place. That way it will perform like and get the same mileage as a plain Lancer or a Honda 4 cylinder. When you want to go fast, just spend an afternoon replacing all the parts you took off, but be sure you make it slow again later that night so your commute in the morning gets good gas mileage.
