Dude I saw you replied and switch cars a few times and still undecided. But the actual deciding factor is how you feel when you are in the car. Cheap interior here and there. My car is faster than yours. That doesn't really matter, it's what you're planning to do with the car. They are both good cars. Are you gonna be in the vehicles on long drives? No don't even answer that. JUST DRIVE THE CAR YOURSELF AND FEEL IT. The informations you know now will help you decide.

im just waiting it out and im still trying to sell the lude
however, lately my thoughts have been on the EVO
my main concern is the tranny and clutch wearing out
Ill be purchasing an 05 if I do
I tried searching but I couldnt find anything about the 05's trannys and whether or not the clutches are holding up or not

so if anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated

im leaning towards the EVO because:
more power potential
cheaper insurance
cheaper to buy
im trying to move back to NY lol(cant move back to NY if I get the STi...payments are a bit high)

[QUOTE=qbbraveheart]hmmm...I have a little dilema on my hands here lol

Get the Evo! I used to own a subaru WRX and that car brought me nothing but nightmares. I am still paying for repairs that they denied waranty work. Had problems with my tranny 2 times and a broken center diff. The car was garbage. My friend has a wrx also, and his 2nd gear just blew! The Evo is a far superior car than the STI. The 4g63 is the best motor to mod if thats your intention. The tranny IS strong on the Evo and has been proven by many Evo owners with 400whp-650whp on stock tranny!! Look at all the companies running low 11's and high 10's all done on stock tranny. The transfer case is also strong, i spoke to Jon from TRE directly and he said 90% of customers with broken TC was due to wrong fluids and driver fault. Yes the STI has a strong tranny but its not indestructilbe like everyone thinks. My friend has an STI which he got rid of b/c of blown motor, blown turbo and clutch, grinding in more than 3 gears and had a lot of problems. I have read of more than 2 hand fulls of people with blow motors on the STI b/c they think the motor can withstand the same amount of hp as the 4g63. The Evo will outhandle the STI any day. In every magazine ive read with comparisons between both, the EVO has won in almost every category, and as far as rating has come to be #1! In the sport compact magazine a few months ago the EVO came #1 out of 100 CARS!!!! There, i think ive said enough!!! Get the Evo, you wont be disapointed.

I dont beat up on my car...well not all the time

the above will be the deciding factor
clutch is all about driver. Theres plenty of people with 03's with over 30k on stock clutch. havent heard any grinding. I think the issue was resolved after the TSB's on 03's

Oh no man watch out for those Ebay bastards, seriously.

My 2cents, the Evo has a waaaay bigger backseat, and that counts

I like both cars to be honest, got the Evo tho. The steering is incredible compared to the STi, thast the only thing that sets them apart if you ask me. A sidenote about the STi, Subaru does give you a SCCA pass but you're warranty is voided if you use it. They're no better than Mistu

Well I personally like both cars, I fear the STi because it's a pretty good match for the EVO and the STi transmission is quite stout.

I'm equally impressed with either transmission in the EVO or STi and both should be capable of handling a sheitpot of power as long as you're easy on the launch.

BTW- I've got the T-case problems fixed. We are doing some real testing and should have it out next month.
