Is tightening the cable really that helpfull. I really didnt know that many people who have done it til i was looking through all the members cars and was surprised to see how many people did it. Just wanted some feedback......

 

I do it. It helps a lot with throttle response.

Taking out the slack will increase response, however leaving it slightly open will not net any real results and the ECU will correct the fuel (effectively making the change useless).

EDIT: Loosen the two bolts that hold the throttle cable onto the intake manifold and slide the whole thing to the left a bit. It's really simple, but it's not really worth doing unless you have sluggish throttle response issues.
