i get less notice from girls in this than any other car i have owned. but it is the best driving by far. people wanna hate?-
f u c kem. i love my car, and i actually use the wing cause i drive very very fast. a lot. if u want a car for chicks, then by a bmw or a tl.

I get noticed by women with my evo. And I love the wing. I think it's gorgeous. I think the evo looks terrible without it. I haven't had a negative comments about it either. this chick in a 350z tried to race me yesterday and after I stomped her *** she gave me a look like, " I can't believe this 4 door with a huge *** wing just beat me!" hahahahah

 

I think the best part is how it really does look like a boy racer, and when you stop the go pedal, its qiet as kept. I think thats what gets most people, how fast and QUIET it is. well in STOCK form anyway-

 

Am I the only one doesn't give a damn what people say about my ride? I got a few comments on the wing, but I shrugged it off as ignorance.

I actually came outside one morning (live in a gated apt. complex) and in the dew on the wing someone had wrote "your wing is ugly".....


I just laughed and broke out my can of spray polish and rag. Dumb people.

 

i my self think the evo is one of the most beautiful cars ive ever seen (i said one of not the most beautiful) but it is seriously HOT and the wing it works for me and i hate big wings and most over seas styling the way i see it is when i get my evo the wing will just give me something to hold on to while i fu<k its tail pipe

 

Mitsu's Evo squad includes about 100 engineers. Of course, they work on the WRC cars, Group N, and the road cars etc....Engineers using empirical data to solve problems don't use f****** "stylists". The wing, front bumper and undertray, and hood heat vent (which also plays a role in reducing front lift at speed) are all purposeful aerodynamic tweaks that cost Mitsu literally $millions over many years to develop, test, improve, and so on all constrained by the FIA rulebook for which the cars compete under.

I find it odd that the original Porsche 930 Turbo with the big "whaletail" was not mocked or riduculed for it's "styling". The fact is, the car was built by Porsche to homologate varies racing versions and it's looks were, like the Evo, form follows function driven.

One of my neighbors is a retired Air Force fighter pilot. He and his wife are both about 70 and just the nicest people. He and his wife, particularly her, always complement the Evo as a beautiful car whenever I am out front washing it. It always makes me smile when this 70 something lady admires my purpose built, no stylists involved, machine.

I get wing comments all the time, more along the lines of you should take that thing off it looks ridiculous...my response: Too bad it's a functional wing...it creates downforce, but you probobly wouldn't have to worry about it with your car...then they generall tend to argue a bit...and i get into the whole...well when your going 120+ on the expressway it's needed...then i tell a little story: usually it goes something like this "it's funny you are so ignorant and say something about my wing and how it's for "looks"...did you know when audi first came out with the audi tt and the audi tt quattro they had no rear spoiler, they were then recalled a few months later because the car would actually began to get loose at above65mph because there was not enough downforce on the car, so you know what they did...they put a spoiler on it...go figure...and thats at 65...i'm talking about going double...hence my wing....then i generally tell the to think before they talk.

 

haha, awesome! I didn't realize the TT's were recalled for that. . . .I'm almost positive that without the wing, we'd lose high speed stability. . . .does anyone have a downforce figure??? I know the vortex generators put down 67lbs of downforce at 100mph. . . .

 

I got laughed at by a guy with a Mercedes, he was riding with 2 girls. He roled the window down and asked "How slow is that lancer?" I was like wtf? I said, "wanna see how slow it is?" After that i managed to hand him his ***. Afterwards i waited for him to get next to me again and i laughed at him so hard that the guy didnt even flinch, all i saw was the girls smiling!! HEHEHE. But i also get attention from ppl. I was looking for parking yesterday at the mall and i saw 3 girls walking with 2 guys, i look in my sideview mirror and i see one of the girls running towards my car, i didnt know what she was trying to do, sure enough she was taking pics of my car with her camera phone

 

lmao i can beat that...i was driving last night ( i have dark tint on my windows) and this bmw was weaving trying to catch up with me...i would have stayed to play but i had to turn so i got in the turn lane and they cut across 3 lanes and got in the turn lane also i'm like wtf is this guy doing....I put my window down and a few lights after the turn the bmw pulled up next to me it was 3 girls and they were all plastered to the window....they looked suprised/disappointed when they saw me driving.. at the next light they whipped a u turn to go back to where they were comming from....i'm pretty sure they were chasing mee thinking i was a guy.....lmao @ me picking up chicks in my evo!!
