It depends if you need a fat overweight two door or a lean mean 4 door. I owned a modded '97 GSX and I loved it, but the EVO 8-9 kill it in the handling and speed categories. It isn't even close. If they did a new GSX expect it to weigh more than the 3500 pounds the Eclipse GT weighs now.

The eclipse was never a "performance" car like the Evo....If the Eclipse handled and made Evo power, I'd have one instead of my Evo. To me, the Evo is an ugly car (not as ugly as the last generation of eclipses though).

I had a 1997 Eclipse GSX and I made it faster than than my current Evo. I sold it for the Evo because of the ease of the 4g63 to make power so I would not have to mod it as much. My old car plenty modded and it was not exactly street cool (legal). The Eclipse needed some serious work to even handle half as well as a stock Evo and my GSX was not even in the ballpark.

If they make an Eclipse with the Evo running gear (Awd, 6 spd, and 2.0 turbo) I would jump all over it.

The Evo X...well I 'll hold judgement until I see one...

The current EVO have a coolness factor that I never felt with my Eclipse. I am an old man now (33) and the EVO fits better with my lifestyle if I was to get a 2nd car it would be a S2000, Boxster or and E30 M3 for track duty.

Ummm dude, are you saying DSM's don't have 4g63s lol? And my GST made GREAT power with about $2000 dumped into it....I agree with the handling statement though.

I own a Subaru so obviously looks don't matter. While utility is a bonus, I'd prefer whichever is faster, especially in the twisties.

Only on an Evo board would a 33 year old think themselves old. Then again I couldn't imagine pulling up to fine dining restaurant in an modded out Evo so perhaps I'm old as well.

Then how did you end up with a Subaru in the first place?

More power too you, I figured I'd be an old one approaching 36. Seems like the Evo does not only ring with the Playstation generation after all.

60 year old and an Evo! So at the golf course it's a Cadi, Buick, Olds, Lincoln lined up and then there is an Evo

I always felt the Eclipse looked like it was more female oriented. I had a GSX and i couldnt stand seeing 300000000000 girls with the same car or an RS.

The EVO feels more aggressive and looks more aggressive. Id say id love to go with the EVO out of pride... but if the EVO comes out looking how its planned to... maybe the eclipse depending on how many females decided to ride the eclipse.. lol
