The ol "evo vs sti" question

as my next car i want either an evo or an sti. but its frustrating to choose between the two. their both the same speed. they both look bad ***. so which is a better buy. im thinking that subaru is higher quiality built than mitsubishi. i also like that the subaru dealership here has their own tuning shop where you can do just about any mod you want and keep your warranty where as the mitsu dealership has next to nothing.i think evos win in look wise, but the sti has its own different look too that sets it apart. interior wise i think the sti is better made. just doesnt look so plain like the evos interior. the seats of the evo are extremely comfy and hold you in compared to th sti's that dont holdyou in for ****, but they still look nice. what are yall;s opinion when your in the market to buy a car between the two, what makes what a better buy. which wont brake as much and last longer in the long run.

Do you PLAN on modding it? From what I've heard, seen and read...the Evo takes to mods much better than STI does. I'm not talking about full-out 1/4 mile monsters, but high HP daily drivers. You can make a reliable 11 second Evo a lot easier than in an STI. If you plan on track driving the car...I think it's a toss up in the twisties. Some of these other guys can answer the questions about that though. Either way you go...you'll have fun.

This has nothing to do with the Ralliart. Moved to the newb section.

No way, otter, take that junk out of here. We've had more threads like this closed than anything else.

From the sounds of your post, it seems to me that you had more praise for the STi.
I had on 04 STi and I can tell you that the interior is much nicer in the STi. As for build quality I think they are about the same. The EVO is basically a tin can going down the road. I am glad mine isn't a daily driver but I must say that the suspension is hands down better over the STi. Just my .02

just drive them we could tell you what we think but in your mind you know what you want and if you don't then maybe you should sit on it and think about what you want.

If you are in the hunt for a 03 Evo then let me tell you right now that the 03-04 STI
is in a different league stock. The STI has much more equipment and reliability than the 03-04 Evo(6 speed, HID,Forged rims,DCCD,cruise control) and above all it has an unbreakeble tranny and differential, on the other hand the 03-4 Evo has a crystal trasnfer case.

If you are looking for an 05-Evo or a 05 STI then it is a tie on stock mode. Mod both cars and you will find out that it takes one third of the money to modd a Evo and get better results.

The STI does not respond to the mods as good as the Evo does.

skip the sti. I had one and it was one problem after another, it got to the point where I could not even drive the car anymore. I had to sell it and when I did I didn't even consider getting another sti, I went ahead and got a 06 IX and could'nt be any happier.
