aside from the options, does it give you any more power? or do these options contribute to a better performing car overall?

 

No, ecu's alone do not give increased power. However, motec and some other stand-alones allow u to make a finer tune that will make your car more powerful than reflashing the car's original ecu (limited).

To increase power u need a more agressive tune. An agressive tune is more stress on the engine. You therefore need better quality fuel (race fuel). Unless your loaded with cash and can afford race fuel all the time, then a reflash with one map will do. with my motec I can switch between two maps(race fuel & pump gas).

This car is definitely not a daily driver. It's my track car since I sold the Caterham over six months ago.
