Hey guys, I have a small issue. I have a interior rattle, it ONLY happens at night but not in the day.

It rattles somewhere from the driver's side. Not around the radio but somewhere near me..

I have no idea where it is, stealership says they can't duplicate..

HELP!

 

I get a rattle coming from what seems to be inside my door at times. Probably speaker wires vibrating against the plastic or something.

 

Are you kidding? There are many ways to isolate the noise but here are some:


roll the car in all gears and listen
roll the car in neutral with the engine shut off and listen
roll the car with the windows up and down
Have someone driving the car and you listen, swap with the person

I am sure is not related to runing during day or night.

I've had more than 2 people confirm with me that it's only at night. It's fine during the day..

It's weird..

I know that plastic expands with heat, and contracts when cold.

 

I remmeber there being a thread like this a while back and i THINK behind the dash there's this little clip near the windshield that rattles. That might be it? Sorry I'm not much help. Just mentioning something I read a while back. The dealership fixed it for him though.

 

Maybe ur EVO doesnt like the sunlight...its a night creature like bats and ****...seriously...why you dont take it to another stealership?, and if they say no...then go to another and so on

In the day, the plastic can warm up and expand. Also, the modulus of the plastic can change when it warms up, and this will affect the frequency at which the plastic can resonate.

I just learned to deal with all the rattles it makes. Its no quiet ride.

 

I have the same problem. I just bought my IX a couple of weeks ago and noticed the rattle last week. I took it in to the dealer and they said they had to order some kit to fix it. So now Im waiting for the call to take it in.

 

i guess i,m lucky,4800 miles on my IX and not a squeak or rattle anywhere, not even over rough roads. even my 03 8 didnt have a squeak or rattle from anywhere.

 

it's just getting annoying, I know I bought a mitsubishi but my DSMs which both had 140k+ miles didn't have any sqeaks or rattles ever.

 

I get one from my door on rare occasions, usually when its hot. Very slight but annoying when it happens. Learn to get over it or tear your door apart =\

 

turn up the music you won't hear the rattle
