What are the main differences between the EVO 7 and EVO 8? Not body difference - eg ECU, engine, suspension?

 

nothing.... someone correct me if im wrong but i believe the 8 makes a lil more power then the 7, other then that no other motor differences.

 

an 05 has a 10.5 hotside as oppose to the 03-04 Evo 8. I think LSD...not sure how though

 

but he's saying what is the difference between a 7 and a 8. probably just different ecu tuning. thats what gives the 8 that extra pep.

 

My main reason for the question is that I was about to buy an EVO 8 yesterday but also considering an EVO7, which is original LHD form Europe. I regularly go to the US and stop off at RRE in LA for parts for my Eclipse. I would be purchasing after market parts in the US, which are for the EVO 8 and was wondering if all are compatable to the EVO7 as I know the EVO 8 parts are not all campatable to the EVO 5-6. Anybody knows abount ECU+?

 

the MIVEC is only in the Evo 9 right?

You know what would be nice is a section in this forum for the specs of each year evo's

 

did the 7's come with AYC?

 

Yes it did, I think the 8 came with S-AYC which is supposedley a beter form of AYC (JDM model of course)

 

all jdm models did except the american ones
