Angry Stupid question but... how to empty out the oil catch???

I just got my new "used" EVO 8 and went in for an oil change. First I went to pepbos, when I explained that the oil catch had to be emptied, they went blank, they had no idea what it was. So I decided to take it to the mitsu dealer. Fred Bean Mitsu dealer in PA. They also didn't know what to do. I thought that was strange because I know I am not the only EVO with a oil catch. But since I needed the oil change I just had it done. I did figure out that my oil catch didn't need to be emptied out at the time, but when the time comes, can anyone tell me how to?? I couldn't find a sticky for it.

Dude......if you cant figure that out and you went to pep boys with your car? Dont even work on the thing.

I dont run an oil catch can but it would seem logical that you unhook the lines and remove it from the car and just turn it upside down to let it drain unless there is a drain hole at the bottom. Use your head. Sorry for being rude......

well found out that you have o unscrew the tank from the car and empty it out, have to unhook the tubes. Not sure but have you seen and oil catch in an evo before ???? There is no way you can get to it from beneath the car. I have a CUSCO oil catch tank. Its only mountable near the backside of the engine. I'll post a pic later.

Wow, I'd think that since he posted a valid question in the Newbie forum he'd be entitled to answer without all the crap.

How about the "Evolved" members that come to help the newbies actually help instead of posting stupid replies just to build their post count. It would make for a more pleasant and productive forum.

Is there a drain plug? Feel along the bottom of the can for it. If there is, just drain it from there. If not, you'll have to unmount it.

i thought posts in the newbie forum didn't add to your post count

anyway, does your catch can fill up every 3,000 miles? if so, that seems like a lot of blow-by

Exactly...
I'm just starting to learn about the car and its parts, I just loved to drive without knowing too much about the car itself. thats why I have lots of questions. Some just don't remember how stupid they were when they first knew about these things. Maybe they received the same treatment??? who knows

the clear thing on the side that you use to see the level of oil in the can is how you drain it. it unhooks, and the oil comes out from there

forget the jerkoffs response on here, ive got a cusco catch can easiest way to get it out is of course loosen clamps to hoses once you have them pulled off there should be a bolt or two that holds the catch can to the bracket support, loosen it dont lose the bolts pull under strut bar, flip upside down like other person said give it some good shakin most should come out, or at the very least, get urself an air compressor and shoot some compressed air in one fitting and residual should blow out the other end
