2008 Lancer Ralliart
This is the styling direction that Mitsu should have taken 4-5 years ago, instead of turning all of their products into goofy looking pontiacs. They would have been so much better off and not near bankruptcy.
These new style cars will no doubt dring mitsu back from the dead.

That would make sense as I don't think the Eclipse GS and Galant DE/ES which also currently use the 4G69 will swap to a new 4cyl in the middle of their life cycle either, but I dunno for sure.
Actually Mitsubishi is already using the new 2.4l "World" Engine in the new Japanese Outlander (the American market Lancer and Outlander will be built in Japan although it is already known that American market Outlander will feature only a 3.0l V-6 which obviously is not in the "World Engine" family).
Anyway, I surely hope that the basic Lancer will have the new 2.0l "World" engine as it would be a big improvement over the current offering (from around 120hp to 150hp for around the same price) and the RA could use the new 2.4l.

However, as far as I know,
is only under contract to buy the W.E. from the Dundee plant for U.S. manufactured vehicles (Galant/Eclipse) .Whilst
was part of DCX there were plans to have the Lancer built alongside the Caliber. But for now the Lancer will continue to be built in Japan (as well as some other countries in Asia).I believe
is permitted to fit the Lancer (and other models) with the W.E. and import them into the U.S.IMO, it would be inefficient to ship CBU's (Completely Built-up Units) and then have to install the engine seperately.
