I know I can't expect a radical difference, but I would like the Evo to have a distinctive feature tat is easy to pic out. Like the grey bumper inside the grill. If the Ralliart still has a body-colored bumper, that's acceptable. Though I do hope that the Ralliart doesn't get fender flares...

ill give you this:

-production date is June 2008 (it will be in dealership across europe end of june)

- it will be named ralliart in europe (probably in the states also), stop saying it wont

- same engine as evo x, they are aiming at 240hp, will require premium unleaded RON 98 in europe

- it will have RECARO seats, someone mentioned earlier that it wont

I've seen a production ready picture of a ralliart... Its million times better than the basic lancer, like an upscale lancer gts

it has a different front bumber (the whole front is different), hood.....

basically, ralliart is coming in europe (and US probably) in 12 months
they're gonna reveal the ralliart in march 2008 at geneva motorshow

evo x on the other hand is coming earlier
production date is december 2007 (it will be in US dealerships at the start of february, across europe aroung april)

they're gonna reveal it at frankfurt motor show in september this year

thats all i'm prepared to give you (i probaby gave too much anyway, but i told you about the engine few months ago...)

Awesome man thanks for the info. Any info on possible price? I expect (and hope) for 20-25 k? (US that is).

I think I remember you, you pretty much hit the nail in the head when it came to the new Lancer performance numbers, I am guessing you have some kind of inside info, or hell, you can be Dr. Evo himself lol

Anyway, Lancer Ralliart rated at 240HP? I guess it's powerful for an average driver but Mitsubishi supposedly dubbed the new Ralliart "WRX killa", and the new WRX has already been released in Japan and is rated at 250HP and is lighter so I am guessing how can the Ralliart be even called WRX killa when the numbers are not in it's favor, at least not with 240HPs

The USDM WRX will only have 225hp. Plus they cheaped-out on the tires, going from 215s to 205s. The brakes went from 4-piston to 2-pot, and contrary to rumors that the new body is lighter, it's the same weight. I hate to say it, but I don't think an AWD turbo Lancer will have much trouble with the WRX.

any word about SAWC in the ralliart? or at least ACD+AYC? don't really need the active braking, suspension, steering as the past evos handle just fine without it

i can see a DSG RA outselling the EVO by a lot...

yea its legit, i've got friends who work for mitsubishi

i can give you a few more "not so important spoilers"

240hp is the target number, so dont expect anything more or less from 230 to 250hp

it will have a sporty leather wrapped steering wheel (probaby same as evo x, the one you saw on proto x, dont know for sure because i've only seen exterior pictures)

cruise control

and the first 4 chassis number are CY4A (i miss my old 1990 C62A lancer lol)

no more spoilers until mitsu gives official info

I don't know if it will be a wrx killa or not. It may have 240ish hp to the wrx 224, but it will probly be a little heavier and you can get that access port from cobb for a quick 30-40hp for the rex. I wonder if the lancer will have something like that? Plus I wonder if the price will be comparable because a loaded GTS is around 22k and they are supposed to stick another trim level in there with a 2.4L too? Anyway, I can only hope that it'll come in at around 25k with the standard options. If it does, it sounds like it will be a pretty nice ride at that level...

The whole point is if your are comparing stock vehicles. Talking about a modded WRX is silly IMO, especially if you are talking about a relatively cheap and easy mod that works on a current car that hasn't been done to one that hasn't come out yet. While they both have very similar drivetrains, the upcoming WRX has some changes.

dealerships are completely clueless to new cars coming out... my local dealership said they were already supposed to have the ralliarts, and this was about a month ago
