I hope ur parents know what they are doing. Dont crash ur car because u really arent invincible. And owning an evo does not make u a good driver.....so get to an autox and find out what it can do safely. Dont go street racing ur buddies and kill some pedestrian.

Sorry to be harsh, but there are way too many noobie drivers with evos totalling them.

na there are probably alot of 16 years old on here with evo's they are just affraid to say how old they are because they will probably get flammed on here and people will get at them because most likely there parents bought them the evo, or other people will say the evo is to fast of a car for a 16-17 year old...

but hey welcome and  to you!

Bobby

the big MD all up in this hizzle!

and loljj2221 - i'm not hating. no wait, on second thought, i am.

seriously though i just think it is extremely foolish for someone your age to be driving that kind of car for many reasons, such as 1) it's highly unlikely you're paying for a) the car or b) the insurance and quite possibly not even c) the gas, 2) the amount of driving experience at that age is next to none and we all do stupid things at that age (speaking from experience here, and i wasn't nearly as much a risk taker as most guys are), 3) and this is the more important than any other reason - i don't want to see you get hurt. still, can't change the situation so all i can say is be careful, try and get some pro driving lessons in your car if possible and be thankful for how good you got it. cover those bases and you have my respect.

ur right though cause at MOST you've had ur license for maybe a year, most likely still in high school or you don't go to school because i would honestly love to know how if ur paying for gas, insurance, car payments and all that if ur only 17 and ur still in school or even not in school

i would love to know what job u do or where u work because my best guess would be at this point is u sell drugs(sarcasm)

If I had an evo at 17 i woulda killed myself or someone else....i am speaking the truth. And not because I was a bad driver....but the sheer fact that friends peer pressure you. Even if you are responsible I can bet that 99% of ur friends are not and they will try and get you to do something stupid in it. At that age more than likely you will listen to them and either get a lot of tickets or crash the car.

I am glad that u autox. That is a good start. Get all of the "need 4 speed" out on the track because in the street you have to worry about a lot more things happening then running over a cone or two. So just make sure that you know many people have totaled evos here. Many are much older than you. Hell there was one 44 year old guy that killed his 20-something year old friend that was a girl recently, so never think it wont or cant happen to you.

And dont listen to any of ur dumb friends...they will try and get you to do dumb things.

Another thing...is that Monterey California? If so there are plenty of good tracks out there. Go and drive on them and learn what the car can do.

And keep an eye out for your car. Plenty of jealous high schoolers will want to key, kick, throw mcdonalds on your car. So get an alarm.

2 weeks after I got my ITR in high school back in 2000 someone popped my emblems off and keyed the car.....

You assume too much. I'm 17 and pay for my car and my gas. Sure, I don't pay for the insurance. That is the case with alot of kids now days. The insurance isn't much more than a minivan though.

Occam's razor points out that when you explain something you should attempt to assume the least amount of variables as you can. If everything is equal, the simplest solution tends to be correct. So since you can't know things like this, and in the end will be no better off for assuming them (because assumptions built upon assumptions have exponential room for invalidity), why not just ask? If someone feels they have to lie about it, does that hurt you?
