what the heck you talking insurance is freaking expensive, way more than a minivan... your parents probably insure it under their name cause if they insure it under your i bet it would be more than 3000 a year for full coverage. My brother wanted to buy a used evo too and he's 19, we call insurance for a quote in texas for full coverage it was going to cost him almost 3200 a year... 266 a month is half a car payment.. if you 17 year olds can pay for your car urself and insurance it urself i don't understand how ur paying around $700+ a month.. if you are thats just pure punishment.. I would expect my parents to help me out with that car payment while going to school if i was 17. Damn $700 a month plus gas.... freaking crazy...

yep insurance is insane..i submit my 4.0 grade average to the insurance for a student discount, no tickets on my record either, and still insurance wouldve sky rocketed. i have my dad set as the main driver to keep the price down..im 21, work almost full time and go to school just in the mornings and still most of my income goes into car related bills etc
i dont believe that most of these 16 year olds pay for it all themselfs, let alone in most states 16 yr olds and high school students theres labor laws (ca i know for sure) that limit to how many hours there even aloud to work...and unless your working full time theres no way you can pay for it all themselves like so many of them claim and still be in school at the same time....

So, since everyone wants to jump to conclusions, why don't we just ask?
1. How are you paying for a 2006 Evo IX at age 17?
2. How are you paying your insurance, and how much is it?
A further conclusion, pardon me, Mr. Occam. But at age 17, unless you somehow paid cash, i.e. 30k +/-, it is *highly* improbable at 17 to have the credit required, especially in California to finance an Evo.
