Worst car deal ever!

Sorry, couldn't resist the funny eVeR.

I found the largest Evo dealer in my area(happened to be down the street where I work), told them what I wanted and what I'd pay, and they actually gave me a better price than the California guys...

I was going to get regular IX, but he said he could have an SSL or MR in the color I want in 2 weeks or less.

I want either white or Gray. I love black... but I've had two black cars and its too damn hard to keep them clean!

Once the ink is dry on the deal, I'll post up the exact offer I was given. In case anyone wants to know, I was argueing sales guy who was adamant about charging sticker and his manager came over to see what the big arguement was (we were getting pretty loud). I showed the manager some of our west coast friends prices and he offerred to beat it on a IX. He called me after I got home and said if I wanted to wait two weeks he could get me either a SSL or MR and beat the cali guys price by 2-3%.
(*** Had to edit the sentence above, I was a bit in a good type of "sticker shock" haha ***)
They also offerred me a very good deal on my s2k, almost what I could privately sell it for.

I'll be honest, I went in prepared for WWIII. I have no problem about walking out of a dealership either.

Now I just gotta decide on gray or white, SSL or MR. I know everyone is going to say MR, but I want a sun roof and I don't remember if the MR comes with that. Anyone know?

I updated my first post a bit with more info. Basically I showed them some of the pricing that's offerred here on the boards for the west coast guys and they offerred to beat that by 2-3%

Once the ink is dry, I'll make sure everyone knows who they are. But I've seen too many last minute screwups by dealerships to believe it until its in my driveway.

I may have to change my screen name!

Wow, I gotta clean that first post up still.

After they offerred me the IX, I got a call when I got home from the manager who then said they could get me a SSL or MR or 2-3% less in two weeks. That was AFTER I'd left.

s2kguy,

As soon as you can, let me know what dealer this is (can you at least tell me what state you're in?)... I am looking to buy a WW IX as well and want to start talking numbers with dealers in my area ASAP. BTW, I'm in CT...

Let us know ASAP!

NJ, so not too bad a trip for you.

In case anyone is wondering, I'm 31 (almost 32). So no mommy money for me

I'm very excited actually. The Evo drives like I wished my 2004 sti would have.

If I wasn't selling my reinforced diff and 4.57 gears to a friend of mine, I'd probably have the IX right now. My credit is pretty damn good being a home owner and all. But I'm glad I waited, because I really want the SSL or MR.

I'll tell you guys the exact reason I'm keeping my mouth shut until after I have the car to end the questions

These guys haven't been moving Evo's very well for the last 2 months, so they want to sell a few. I don't want a flood of calls going in and give them the idea they are charging too little and jack up the price on me before I (big capital I) get one! (at least that's the stealerships story)

Its purely selfish I know, but all is fair in love, war, and car buying.

Decided on the SSL (need a sunroof to remind me of my convertible). I'll be leaving a deposit and getting everything finalized on Saturday.

Once everything is in writing, I'll post up what I got and where to get it yourself.

Now I just gotta decide on white or Gray.

White sexxy, gray is mean looking... Decisions decisions.
