I think most of us only know the newer evo's
Can you post some pics of that bad boy? Also your going to have to search this one on your own :P try google.
If your engine shares the same components as our later cars and I'm fairly confident it does, you will have to upgrade that turbo to flow enough air to run a 10 in the 1/4 (unless your curt brown). One such turbo is the brand new to market FP Evo Green. There is a thread about it (hugely long thread) in the turbo drivetrain section. The import 1/4 factors and boost capabilities are near the end.
Things you should look into:
- Engine management
- Tranny condition (see if it was upgraded or not too)
- T-case condition (same as above)
- A whole gambit of other mods to support higher boost
- Injectors
- Plugs
- BOV (for those running like 30psi)
- Tuning :P

The EVO 1-3 motors are different than the 4-9.

Hardly any of the evo 4-9 parts will fit on your car.

to get into the 10s this is what you need
Stand Alone ECU
HKS 280s
Stroker motor (but not necessary)
garrett gt35r or bigger
fmic
1000cc injectors (min.)
1 to 2 255lph pumps
3" exhaust
1mm oversized valves
port and polish head
new valvetrain
act 2900lb clutch
etc, etc, etc.
also no the evo8 motor is not the same. and the evo 1-3 motor isnt the same as the dsm, the evo 1-3 motor is a 7bolt, unless you get the late 92-94 dsm then the motor parts will work, but not a 90-early model year 92.

I believe it has the same motor as the DSM...

Check into the dsm fp red turbo. thats enough power to get you deep into the 10's and is a bolt on turbo. Thats a good start to work a base off of.
But basically do some reasearch on dsm forums to find cam reccomendations and tests etc.
Cheers!

Check out www.machv.com or www.roadraceengineering.com.
They have all the stuff you could every need for your engine.
I would recommend sourcing out a USDM 6 Bolt 4G63, especially if you want to go 10s. You have a 7 Bolt in your car, which is prone to crankwalk.
