Not affected very much by accidents on Evolutions... jealous by chance??? It is hard to find someone that hasn't been in an accident... and don't give me this 9/10 kids will be in an accident if you don't have any real numbers... You can't back that until you get real evidence... I know someone that recently got into a wreck in his evo... He's 21 so I guess you are saying that 21s aren't fit for an evo and that they are also the ones to blame for high premiums... Then find me an age group that hasn't wreck an evo and only let them drive it... And yes I am defending this guy because I am one of those so called "rare" 16 y/o evo owners... Been driving it for 5 months now (I'm actually 17 now)... And I have 0 accidents and 0 tickets... Guess I'm in the so called 10% category...

To the person that said people rarely man up to when they fall for peer pressure... I admit, I have before but never in my car and nothing that would risk my life and the lives around me...
I care because I find something morally wrong with simply sitting back and saying "oh well he's made up his mind, let him go and do something stupid" especially when it could cost this kid his life, or god forbid, someone else their life as well.
I wasn't saying my insurance will go up, since it obviously won't, I'm saying that the insurance for him to drive an evo will be insane. At the moment he is going under his mother's name (correct?) but is he going to do this till he hits 25 and his insurance takes a nose dive?
Why does it always come down to the "oh you drive a slower car, therefore you are jealous" argument? Why would I be jealous? I have a great life, I'm 21, finishing up my bachelors degree at university, I have great parents who have and continue to look out for my best interests (something I feel this kid lacks since in my opinion no sane parent would consider buying their kid a car like this) and I have the rest of my life to look forward to. What's next, you're going to say that the 35 year old making a six figure income is jealous of some 16 year old kid? Find a new argument, that one is getting old.
I posted up statistics for you, and they are crystal clear. Young drivers are in more accidents, and have a higher fatality rate than any other group. The number one cause of death among young people is car crashes. There are crashes in every age group (as your example shows) but they are substantially higher among young people.

Wow, so a 16 year old dying in a car crash is the same as an 80 year old man dying in hospital bed surrounded by his children and grandchildren? If that is your mentality in life, I actually feel sorry for you.

What an ***. im making a reference to stats. STATS SHOW THAT HE WAS GOING TO DIE NO MATTER WHAT. Stats show that I am somehow going to TOTAL MY EVO. Well stats always leave a small percentage. Any yes I said I have cancer and they said i cant drive. LOOK AT ME NOW! Learn to read and interpret better

I feel sorry for you. You are 21. have a license, and xcould be out with friends or be studying for something in college. Are you doing any of that? No. Youre taking something i say a little bit to seriosly and are being a dick about it.

The only reason I'm arguing with you is because you are calling my parents insane and his parents insane... Number One: Would they be able to afford a car like this if they were insane??? Didn't know you could get paid for being in an assylum... Number Two: Doesn't matter how old or rich you are... You can always be jealous of someone... For instance... Why didn't my parents get me that car when I was your age (sister says this all the time)... Number Three: If I'm not mistaken you are part of the age group that was stated too... so take your own advice and GET OFF THE STREETS!! Number Three: I'm having a good time being destracted from my finals this is fun... People that are <21 in age arguing with little 16 year olds... GO DO SOMETHING... 21 on a saturday night, i could think of so much to do...

I understood what you were saying, and what I meant was that you think you are like Armstrong and represent some extraordinary type of human being, as Armstrong represents through his survival and obvious athletic ability. I'm sorry kid, but you're no Armstrong, you have no experience with a high performance car, you can't even drive stick. If you had been racing shifter karts since you were 8, sure, but when the sum of your driving experience is 1 year, you have to be kidding.

Yes and I stand by my statement that any parent who thinks a 16 year old kid with no real experience should get a 300 hp car is insane and wreckless, they might as well give their kids drugs since statistically that is safer.
This jealousy thing really needs to stop. All it shows is how arrogant and cocky you kids are when you think everyone wants what you have. I wouldn't trade my parents for any in the world, and if that means I don't get given a 300 hp car as a present, so be it. I'll take actual parents over a car any day.
I am in that age group, but you don't see me driving a 300 hp car now do you? I've also been driving for close to 5 years now and am hardly in the same bracket as a 16 year old. I would wager that if you actually broke the group into specific ages you would see far more crashes among the lower end of the 16-21 group then among the upper limit.

You know what, just go and get your parents to buy you the damn car, I'm done arguing with people who don't care what the statistics or the people who have "been there, don't that" say. Just remember to be safe and if you crash the car, don't post on here cause all you'll get is a bunch of people saying "I told you so".
