You know what the annoying part about a touchless wash? they dont seem to wash the trunk good cuz of the wing hehe. I need one of those hood shields, makes my evo look like one of those hot rods hehe j/k yuckie!
I removed my hood vent like most....however I take great precautions when it rains..I put my motor in the trunk...! SERIOUSLY...as long as you are running the manifold heat shield you have nothing to worry about. If you run a header, then I would put the vent back on.. FWIW.

I used to handwash my evo every three or four days, then it was once a week, then it's once every 2 weeks, not until recently after those bastard hand wash guys scratched my evo big time that pissed me off, so it's either I wash my evo or it's touchless, cuz nobody touches my evo besides me and the machine washer
The only thing you got to worry about is that if the car sits outside parked and it rains then you have to worry about things getting rusty and look like **** under hood like the headers and what not. If your like me and like everything clean looking.
To answer your question, yes. My Evos have always gotten hand-washes during the summer but in the winter I just run them through gas station touchless washes every week or two.
