Looking into getting an Evo
If i drve cool, meaning keeping it out of boost most of the time, but still having a little fun i get between 18-22 local, and at a steady 75 on the highway 25-26 mpg. The best i ever got local was 23 mpg. That was driving very cool, shifting no higher than 4k in vacuum, and not boosting above 15psi when going into boost. I usually average 19 mpg local. This is in a suburban town with almost no stop and go driving.
Weakest link only if you dont know how to drive....Anyway you should be able to get around 24mpg at the very least..It also doesn't have cruise control for long trips...
The Evo is fine as a daily driver, but if you are looking for something with low maintenance and low mileage then you might want to look at something else. I concur with a lot of the posts here that you will need to save up for a set of tires and various other replacement parts.
i don't have a problem with the upkeep. it's a high performance machine and should be expected. i'm just trying to get an idea so as not to get blind sided by something. Once again thanks to everyone for their replies/info.
I have had mine for about 6 months and couldnt be happier. I went in knowing I was going to have to put money into it but its worth it imho. Get an alignment the day you leave the lot though, mine was WAY off. I heard that the clutch was a weak spot and some people had to have it replaced 2k miles in. I am at 11k and it still feels fine so im gonna have to say they didnt know how to drive or launched the car on the daily.
