I just bought an 03 Evo on Saturday and I got a chance to talk to the previous owner of the car. He suggested I NOT get a BOV for my car because he had an aftermarket one on there that he ended up taking off because it apparently made the car stall. Is this a common problem? If not, then what would could possibly cause that to happen?

 

If its venting to atmosphere it might have problems stalling. Reinstall the stock one or buy a recirculating valve and your problem will be gone.

You need recirculating valve type BOV. Just like factory one. If you don't have stock - get Forge one like I have or many people get MR one, stocker is known to leak boost

 

^^^ quick question. Is GSR bov and MR bov different for evo9? and stock evo really leak boost?

No, all IX CBV's are the same as the JDM VII piece.

It holds boost like a champ until you're boosting above roughly 25psi.

 

if your looking not to stall but still want some noise go with an aps bov i love mine to death!

also i had a greddy that wasnt recirculating and i stalled quite a bit and once going 80 on the freeway which was a great experience!
