EVOM I need your help!

Hey all,

I've ran into couple issues these past days. First it started out with my right HID bulb going out (aftermarket kit). Then my car would not start unless I shake the positive terminal on the battery. Then I noticed that this is happening much more frequently, like once a day. So I inspected the battery and I noticed the red cover on the battery is melting. When the car is started and running the "e-brake/battery sign" light turns on or flashes even if the e-brake is not pulled up and sometimes ALL the ACD lights are turned on. I need some help figuring out what the problem is? Any help would be much much appreciated!

Richard

In the above picture, why is there a wire running from the positive terminal on the battery, to the negative terminal? Maybe it is an optical illusion, but if not, that is a short circuit which will cause your battery to get VERY hot and potentially explode. Also make sure that the terminals are firmly in place, and that there are any other short circuits (everything should have a fuse, check and double check all NON-OEM WIRING!)

Oh and I would like to add that I have an aftermarket audio system (sub + amp) installed as well.

take it out!!!!!! you have a short. who installed it? you need to check the positive wire all the way to the amp and make sure the cable isn't exposed anywhere and make sure you have everything wired properly.

So it isn't a battery problem? I will go back to the guy who installed the system and tell him to check things out. The line that goes from the negative to positive is the HID wiring kit, does that have anything to do with this problem?

most likely the problem is from one of the aftermarket installs...everything needs to be retraced

yes , going from negative to positive at the battery is a bad idea. it might cause a fire and ruin your ride. the install is messed up, take off that line
