I was wondering whats the best way to break in a evo 9 ive heard dont go above 3500 rpms for about a week or two does that sound rite or is there a better way

 

How about read the manual. Ok since thats said. Boost often and vary the revs but stay under 5k rpms for the first 600 miles

 

Drive it like a baby till you hit 1500 miles. This will give you enough time to get some heat into your drivetrain, transmission, and engine. It will in time loosen things up and decrease the chances of you breaking something later.

 

i think it for about 1500 miles don't rev pass 3500 rpm and not pass 65mph

Manual states to keep it under 5k for 500 miles. Personally, I varied a bit.. sometimes 4k, sometimes 5k.. once or twice I redlined it. I'm at 510 miles now on the odometer, and will change the oil at 1k. Second oil change at 5k, then every 5k after that...

 

500-600 miles should be good with boosting in all gears and keeping it under 5k... Change your oil at about 1k miles...

 

Beat the crap out of it.

 

I did 500 mile break in. Didn't pass 5000 RPM. Changed the oil and filter when I got home, and when I hit 500, and when I hit 2500. Every oil change at 2500 and I drive my car like I should.

No one will fault you for following the manual, though.
