Oil changes

So I am not an auto technician in the least and only know about performance gear and other things about cars, not how to install/do things. So I was just wondering what you all do when its time for an oil change? I have an 05 evo and I bring it in every 2-3k miles to where I get all my mods done and they charge $60 for an oil change. Just curious what you guys do and if there is an alternative to what I am currently doing. Also my car has 20k miles on it I am wondering what else I should be getting changed besides oil?

I go to work, Say To my boss/father "Daddy my car needs and oil change" He says to bring it in. So I put the car on a lift, Change drain the oil out, change the filter, and look it over. If were not getting busy I wipe down some componets, and check to see if some thing is odd or wrong. I put the car down, Put 4.5 quarts of mobil one 10W30 SAE full synthetic oil in, start the car. Check oil level, check all other fluids. Sometimes I rotate the tires too. Yeah thats it. All thats to it.

I believe at 30k you change the Transmission, Transfer case and Differential oils.

For starters, you are spending way too much money on an oil change. Start doing your own.

Get some ramps and a drain pan. Use OEM filters or Mobil 1. Use Mobil 1 synthetic oil or equivalent. Change your own oil.

For $60 they better be using some really good ****.

I do my own, don't trust anyone else to work on the car. 2-3k is probably too frequently as well, just a waste of money.

It really is as easy as everyone says to do it yourself. Trust us, go buy some ramps and the oil/filter and change it. There are step by step instructions(with pics) in the how to forum.

If you run hard and frequent, then every 2.5K-3K isn't bad. 5K if ur just regular driving. If you've been running hard or bought it used, i'd change the transfer,x-mission, and diff. Don't neglect you air filter and in-cab filter. You should be rotating ur tires every 5K. I know my status says newbie, so check your recommended Mitsu. Maint. plan and it will fall in line with these recommendations.
