Blow off valve Question
Showing the rest of this community that you're too lazy to search (which would consist of you clicking once, maybe twice with the mouse and typing one, maybe two words on the keyboard) and would rather post a new thread (which consisted of you typing well over 50 words and clicking the mouse numerous times) is rather counterproductive.
Don't you think?

Not to mention the fact that it is against the site rules.

buy a $80 air filter, than spen another $400 on a tune for just 1 product, then when you guys your bov, spend another $400 on a tune. Don't listen to half these guys honestly, save your money, buy your parts in bulk, then tune it, if you tune your stuff so much, your gonna spend easily more money on tunes than perfomance.

As you can see I went back and edited alot of my posts...Initially I did a search, but came up empty handed probably because I used the wrong words in my search which is why I posted my question here in the newbies section. After I got irritated about being told to go and search, I just posted, "If I wanted to search I would have..." I have no problem searching things which is what I ended up doing over the internet and using the terms I was told to use here. Guess I'm not use to all the terminology. The fact is, like I mentioned before my edits, I am a mod on another forum which my job is to take take care of newbies making them feel welcomed and help as much as I can, and I never tell them to go search if they have a question. I help as much as I can because that is what a forum community is there for....To ask questions and have them answered and when I was told to go and search, it upset me...My bad. The way I look at it is I figure when it ever comes to a point where you feel it is a chore to help another person, then you shouldn't reply to their threads. Just my thoughts thoughs...Maybe I should have left up my original posts and not edited anything.
+1

In any event, for those of you that answered my question and gave great feedback...Thanks. It was very helpful. My car has an aftermarket K&N intake on it, and the computer from what I understand, has been re-programmed (not sure though to run an external BOV). I went and re-installed a BOV now that dumps into the atmosphere again with shims (sp) inserted to increase the spring's tension and the car idles fine (stable at 900 rpm which is where I have it set) and good throttle response. The factory BOV I was using got damaged during the swap (which I tried to fix, but ended up breaking under pressure after repeaded use) and so I had to resort to an aftermarket BOV that dumped outside. No issues yet with it though although I may go back to re-circulating it
Here are pics under the hood with the factory re-circulating BOV on it before the swap. I can also get one with the aftermarket BOV on it nowl if anyone likes, but for the record, this is on an EVO I from Japan (right hand drive) with EVO III body kit...I just need to swap out that rusted heat shield I have in there which I guess came with age.

sweet evo!

On a side note...My apologies to all for not searching a bit more and starting this thread. As mentioned before, I guess I used the wrong terms in my search field which left me empty handed and also, I didn't realize it was really against the forum to start a thread about something already previously discussed which was something I was not accustomed to where repeat threads were welcomed. My bad...I'll try and search a bit more from here on in.

OK, please don't advise people to search. A lot of times people don't find what they are looking for. So telling them what they could have typed now doesn't help. Just answer the question for him and move on.
Nice vehicle!

Continuing to allow it to happen without a little bit of a flame-spray just seems like it's only decreasing the signal-to-noise ratio.
Obviously you're going to use different terminology since you are in a different part of the world and all. Whenever I'm on LancerRegister.com (A Brittish-based Evo community) I have to alter my wording in the search field because their terminology is quite different than ours.

Nice car, BTW. I always wanted an old school black Evo. I can't wait until they are old enough to be imported into the US under the "classic car" law. Trying to get one legally in the US right now has been nothing short of impossible.

Dont mess with it... not worth the headache unless you plan to mod your car fully
don't think anyone was trying to insult your intelligence or anything. It's just that at least 10 times a day there are new threads that go like this:

I understand fully man...No worries
About the compliment...Thanks! The Bahamas is really slack and will let basically anything on the roads(LOL). JDM right hand drive cars are becoming very popular. The cars are brought into the country and can hit the roads. No emission laws here, cars that are deemed junk titles that have rolled over I've seen people import them all the time, fix them, and get them on the roads. But yeah...The car is pretty cool with all the features it came with. Even has the mist spray setup to spray the intercooler to cool it off and the car is 14 years old!
