Searched and still need help....Short Throw Shifter

I searched through three pages of threads and still have a few questions.

My main question is that there was a debate that short throw shifters put more stress on your transmission and cause it to wear prematurely. Now I have had short throw shifters on my last three cars but two were rwd and one was fwd, Never AWD. Is this true or false?

I was looking at the following:

B&M Short Throw Shifter Non Adjustable
OEM EVO Shifter Retainer
Kartboy Shift linkage and shifter base bushing
-----I will use the stock shift knob-----

Are these worth getting on top of the kartboy bushings?
Speed Source EVO 5 Speed 2pc Under-hood Stiff Bushings Kit

Thanks for the help and sorry for the newb questions.

Never heard of that.

Is yours a 5-speed or a 6-speed?

I've seen plenty get a short shifter for their 5-speed and have not had any issues.

I would keep the stock height and go for this:

http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...8&cat=0&page=1

It'll smooth out your shift and make it much nicer to shift on. Friend of mine just put one on his and he says that it's awesome.

If you search the vendor forums, you can find them for $99

i dont see what the difference would be of haveing FWD,RWD, or AWD short shifters, thay all do the same job, so just go from your previous experience, did you other shifter stuff up?
