BOV Fluttering?
well then i will have to get the forge one and recuculate it then... which is okay with me. and then ill have to go get tunned. so thats okay as well... now i know why my car is running rich. but why does it make the flutter? its like constintanly opening while im still in boost
Why dont you get over it already? Everyone knows that the only reason anyone gets an HKS is for the sound. This is nothing new. Tell him the problem and move on don't keep pestering him with the same comment over and over. Newbs, jeez! well then i will have to get the forge one and recuculate it then... which is okay with me. and then ill have to go get tunned. so thats okay as well... now i know why my car is running rich. but why does it make the flutter? its like constintanly opening while im still in boost
You guys can keep your SSQV if you want to, it's not my car. But when you sell your car or trade it in, let me know so that I can steer clear of it!
Also, the Flame suit thing is just a joke. When people bust your ***** on here it's called flaming.
Any BOV that is VTA on an un-tuned car will cause problems, period. You may not notice that you have a problem because your car's ECU is compensation, however you are losing power also.
Look at it this way: Air enters your air box, past the filter to the MAF, The ECU sees how much air is going past the MAF, which tells the ECU how much fuel the car is going to need to dump into the car. Then the air passes the turbo and becomes pressurized, through the intercooler, and into the engine.
Now remember the ECU knows how much air is in the pipes, so when the BOV lets a bunch of it out and into the atmosphere you are now running pig rich. Not going to hurt the car, however you lose power.
If the car was intended to VTA don't you think the wonderful designers of the EVO would have made it that way from the factory?
Well, I guess they don't know what they are doing, I mean after all they probably have only built a few cars anyway, why listen to them?
But I supposed that someone who has driven the EVO for a few days will be the best person to determine how the BOV should be!

I see alot of rambling but i call BS.
My friend and i have practically identical mods, only my exhaust is 3inch all the way back, and his DP is tapered to 2.75 (whoopty do). I have the SSQV, he has the MR BOV and i pull on him slightly in third gear.
Not a sign of loosing any power there. sorry
Awww I dont what that.. But when it was installed first it sat on theturbo intake pipe. and wasnt loud at all. then it was moved to the upper ic pipe. and it sounds great, but while it sat on the turbo pipe it shot out some what looked like oil thing, so thats why it was moved, so can some one tell me where itHAS to sit
)
Well my ssqv did sit on the turbo intake pipe, but shortly like a month after install i saw it was blowing some kind of oil thats when i moved it to the upper ic pipe. so i dont know... and i sold my stock blowoff vale to a friend and he ended up selling his car with it on. so i have to order a new one.
I've got a greddy type-S recircing and I have no probs. My stock bov was cracked though prolly from the previous owner. so that's why i got it. But hey, gotta admit, I like the way it sounds. so kiss it.
Put your stock DV back on and just get a bushur open filter. You should be able to hear your DV when you let off throttle.Unless you are running high boost more than 25 psi then you will need to upgrade your DV.Invest on TBE instead of a blow off valve.
Okay well this still leaves one question where will it sit? upper ic pipe or turbo intake? and i do not have a stock one, so i have to upgrade to a diffrent one. cuz my ssqv, now is starting to alwalys release presure, cant hold it anymore.
