Was your battery connected at the time?

Although they can be spliced, the wires are shielded and have a certain impedence lvl to them to give them ECU exact readings. Splicing them like you would a radio would cause havok to your ECU and afr. You are better off fixing it correctly by getting a new O2 sensor.

My .02 cents.

Was the battery connected when you pinched the wires? Have you checked for any blown fuses or could you have possibly caused anything else while you were doing whatever it was you were doing?

And when you say the car won't start, what exactly happens?

When you put the key and click it to on position, you should hear the fuel pump a bit. If you do not hear it then that is why your car doesnt want to turn over. Very high probability this is a fuse issue
