from IX to VIII

I was wondering if i could use IX headlights (non hid) and bolt it right into my VIII (with hid)? Or is there a lot of wiring that needs to be done? Thanks!

i would think the SSL, MR or SE IX lights would work on a VIII. the regular GSR probably would not logically thinking....

Harnesses are different, Your best bet would be to see if Evodave could paint your headlights the blackchrome color of the IX's. He can also change the color of the projector lense to anycolor you want on your current housings.

I doubt it's different, but Dave can do a great job for a lot cheaper.

The housing will fit no problem but you're going to need a different connector for the Lights.

HID 9005 and Halogen are 9006 (or maybe vice versa). It's not a plug and play, you'll have to find a place that sales them.

I know that z1auto sells non HID to the HID harness, but I don't know if there one the other way around.

What you're doing, you're going to have to buy new HID bulbs (around $100) plus find a harness to make it work and you're going to lose your fog light. Evodave does the headlight painting for about $200 I think. Might be a better way.

Actually.. depends on what you have.

We just swapped out an Evo VII Yes a 7 headlight with the 05 MR HID headlights.

There is actually all the plugs available.. one for the headlight itself, and there's an additional plug for the HID. If you use the other lights without HID then you just don't use that extra connector.

If not, you are welcome to making an offer on the non-HID lights we have here. Oh yes, one more thing to note: The HIDS have a hole in the light itself so the ballast can be mounted in ther, the non-HID has the hole filled in. Although I'm sure you could easily drill the hole out to mount the HIDS if you were putting them in there, the mounting screws to hold the ballast is still there.
