Check it out guys, im trying to help my girlfriend find a used 03-04 evo for around 19.5k give or take. and she was originally looking at a black 03 with 77k miles. of course there was no way in hell i would let her spend 19k on n 03 with that high milage so now were looking at a nice yellow one, thats pretty close to us (were driving up there [1 hour drive] on saturday to check it out n see how we like it and imma test drive it, to see if theres any problems with it)

So here it is, he said he would take about 20k for it (but were gunna offer about 19 depending on how it feels when i drive it)

IF she does decide to get it then i think first thing were gunna do is find someone who wants to trade rims for stock evo 8 or 9 rims, or MR bbs'.

 

just remember your buying used, and when it comes to these kinda cars, chances are it was beat up, modded and abused. SO just be careful no matter what you decide to buy. And as for 20k. Put it this way, I got my brand new evo ix for 26k out the door, it had 350 miles on. So thats only 6k away from getting a brand new one.

 

the only problem is my gf only got approved for a 19.5k loan =/ so those are kind of her limites

i doubt the car comes with these features cause the evo didnt come factory with this stuff, which makes u doubt what else is true.

Child Seat
Power Seats
Side Air Bag

also the headlight adjuster comes in all years not just 03's

the rest of the info is correct but be careful. sounds like the seller doesnt know much about the car.

 

It looks clean from the pics.

You wont know for sure until you see it in person and take it for a test drive. Make a checklist for yourself on the things to check for and go through the list. Search the forums and do your home work on the things that could possibly be an issue. (clutch, t-case...etc etc.)
It's too easy to see the car and get lost in the moment and forget something that
could come back to bite you in the **** later.

If you do suspect something, ask the seller if you could get a reputable Evo knowledgeable mechanic give it the once over.

Also if you find something amiss, depending what it is, ask the seller if they will pay to get it sorted or would they drop their price?

i talked to the guy for about 15 minutes today. he owns a couple of nice cars himself. (he has a supra and another car i cant recall). he used to own the evo until his wife made him sell it. he told me a lot about it, but im not too thrilled with the wheels at all. nor am i thrilled about the yellow. you do have a point, but idk i guess we'll see exactly what's up with it on saturday..

until then-- the search for an '03-04 TB Evo continues.

i'm definitely going to look at a yellow '03 VIII on saturday, and possibly a TB VIII if the guy is willing to negotiate. hopefully i'll be in one by this weekend or next.

thanx i'm quite excited to be driving something as nice as an evo finally. after reading about them on here & being driven around in my boyfriend's evo, it makes any other car choice seem silly. this is going to truely be MY first car since i sold the prelude lol.
& im going to be 19 on the 16th.
