I'd consider a 17 year old with an EVO very fortunate and would hope they would respect its capacities and limits as any EVO owner should!

Actually I don't think 2 months without an accident is a sign of maturity, but i also know that accidents can happen at anytime be it your fault or not. I do think that over a year of driving without getting one ticket or causing one accident constitutes proper driving(me), just because you get hit by a car it doesn't mean you are a bad driver, just maybe that you're unlucky(me) and FYI the girl who hit me was 21, age IMO doesn't reflect your responsibility as a driver, your driving record does.

Hey congrats on the car. Of course it is possible for a 17 year old to be responsible with an EVO, you don't need others to tell you that.

The fact that you started a thread to let everyone know that your a 17 year old with an EVO seemed to be an attempt to brag or show off, just my opinion. So with that in mind, If you take that same mentality when you drive your EVO, trying to show off to others, you can get yourself in trouble. Just keep a level head and you should be fine.

Most people say that a 17 year old can't own an EVO because when they were 17 they know they would have gotten in trouble with a car like that. Heck I know i would have. I got my license suspended and I drove a neon back then.

I'm sure this driver thought he was "responsible"
Don't fall into this category, boys

its so funny how most of u say o no 17 year old should own a evo. another funny thing is yeah i couldnt buy it my self bc u need to have a parent for that $hit. but if i could i would of damn well went straight to the dealer ship and bought it myself. yeah it is under my mom's name but i make my car payments and i make sure of it that i do. also i work my *** off for it. just u people have to think o any body under the age of 21 there all still imature. thats not true at all i see so many people over the age of 21 that are so immature its not even funny. im just glad i got brought up good. for my age i would say im very mature. with all the people crashing there cars and totaling them all think teen agers is the reasoning for all this. thats also false alot of adults get into accedents just as many as teenagers. need to learn how to drive is funny bc i am spanking all over those mustangs and wat ever people have. jealiousy is the main key for u guys just wish u could of had a nice toy wen u were young but u people where all to lazy and sat around all day doing absolutely nothing! w.e just wanted to make my point. bc i know i am a responcible 17 year driving a evo and deserve every little bit of it too!

ive had my evo for 4 years and 2 months. longer than a lot of people on these boards... and im 20 now... do the math...

there are always exceptions, and not all young kids are stupid and dumb
having an evo at this age.. gets, lets say... a lot of girls.

i got my first evo when i was 17 =] yea its a risk because you obviously want to feel it but reguardless of age if you have a race car there is always the risk of wanting to race it

as far as safety issues i think an evo is a great car because i dont know many other cars that can handle or brake quite as well as an evo and as long as the kid is not a terrible driver they should be able to handle it just my 2 cents

I don't give a damn, it happens everywhere.

But one thing is, if you got the car to attain certain "status", then I believe you should wrap your car around a tree

Yep, it's all about maturity and being able to make payments and all. Don't get it just to show it off and say that you have an evo, you better make sure you really want that car (its 30k!)

Well congrats on the evo! I bought mine when i was 18. I was fortunate to land a great job right out of school. So i saved up and dropped 17k for the down payment. Car should be payed off at the end of this year. Just to let you guys know, its only been 2 years, took a year for me to start modding it, but its well worth it
