17 yr. old with evo
ey i was 16 when i got mine...but honestly so bullsh!t i treated mine better than my girlfriend and ey trust me i really did....not just that i worked for mine dont believe then *** you, cause im still working....and yes without my father i wouldnt have been able to get it. But i was born with a passion with evos especially the evo 6. Back to topic i dont see why any aged' kid or adult shouldnt be able to own one its their decision on to **** up or not.....i hear alot about older people such as middle to late 20's that screw up more than 17 year old kids.....but whatever i dont think anyone should bash on someone who has a evo at such a young age its just complete bullsh!t and jealousy...
Enjoy your car man...Life's too short to pass up some opportunities that are only given to a few. Just be careful as some have already stated. I wanted a Mustang for my first car at 17, got an RX-7 instead. I'm going to be 30 this year and knock on wood, never caused an accident/got into one and had to claim insurance. Yes I did change tires alot
, but I never took chances which was the difference. To each his own...Everyone will have their own opinions on things. Just the way things go

Honestly I would....I drove an 82 and 83 maxima and left there with so many door dings and people hitting and running, it wasnt even funny. Plus all the money that goes to Evo maintenance can better be spent....well I will leave that up to you. Lets put it this way...I had an awesome experience in college.
First off id like to say i got my evo when i was 17 and ive had it for a year. No accidents, the only ticket i got was illegal tints, and i consider myself a pretty responsible kid. I have to agree with the people who say dont get an evo at 17 because so many kids do not know the limits of driving and drive like idiots. I dont think there is anything wrong with us driving 20k dollar cars but some of the people on these forums treat the evo like ferraris and think its just amazing for a 17 year old to have an evo.
If you dont have the time or money for maintenance of the evo then definitly do not get it because its killing me with how expensive it really is.

i had my evo when i was 17, now turned 20 and have never crashed any car in my life, where as a few of my friends who have had normal cars, toyota vitz and mercedes c-class who have totalled them, il tell you why, because having my evo made me a more carefull cautious driver,
its not about age, its about attitude, i know 30 year old guys who r more wreckless / irresposible than me, age doesnt matter, attitude and maturity is a different matter.

I used to have some issues with younger Evo owners, but meeting some at random instances I've changed my opinions a lot.
I have no major problems with a 17 year old owning an Evo; I hope the younger Evo owners on evom are in the percentile of teenage drivers that are responsible
.
It also shows a lot maturity for those younger Evo owners that can afford an Evo and it's associated costs.
Though I'm not liking a couple of comments about how poor some of us older (I'm 29) people drive.
Do remember that the 17-25 age group is statistically the most prone to accidents per number of drivers, with the 17-21 age group even higher.

I'm 17 and have had an Evo IX, for 2 months now, I baby it and drive carefully, I guess I'm an exception. I got the money to buy it because some girl ran a red light and crashed head-on into me while i was driving my GTi, broke 6 bones in my face including my jaw so I sued. being in the hospital sucked and the days after the surgery were worse but I'm happy I'm driving an Evo that I own, best car ever. I even bought my mom a new g35 with money from the crash and I turn 18 in 1 month lol.
