if it is low then just have an oil change. make sure you checked it when it is cold and the car is on a flat or level ground.

may as well change it. some oil consumption is normal (< 1qt). Also don't check the oil right after shutting the car off, it takes a while for the oil to drain back from the head into the pan.

Go ahead and change it. It's usually a good idea on a performance motor like ours to change out the oil within the first 1500 miles. Gets out all the small metal shavings that come off when you're breaking in the engine. Another good thought would be to change tranny, transfer case and rear diff fluids as well. For the same reason...to get rid of the metal flakes that came off during break in. I changed all my fluids around 1500 miles. Many other Evo owners do the same. But, it's all up to you since you know your driving style and preference.

id change it, i did my first change at 700, and my 2nd change at 1700. im a little **** w/ the fluids. i also change the tranny fluid at 1400. there were metal shavings on the drain plug so its best to get that out of there.

Have you changed the oil since you've had the car? If not, get that stuff out of there asap and put some fresh oil in. I changed at 1000 and at 4500 there was still particles and other materials from normal engine wear in there as per Blackstone Labs oil analysis. They said there would continue to be wear past 4500. Get some fresh, good synthetic in there like Amsoil 0w-30.
