Im looking at a local used 06' as ix and it has a short throw shifter on it and was wondering where or if anyone has a stock one and how hard it is to replace and take the short throw out. Ive heard bad things about evos and short throws so id want to put it back to stock???

 

What have you heard? Also, what kind of Shifter is in there now?

 

i heard that it wont go into gear all the way with a short throw and that over time will break the tranny. I know it has a ralliart knob on it i have no idea what brand it is i couldent really see during the test drive at all...

 

why the stock shifter blows. what have you heard im curious?

 

id want to keep it in order warr wise and ive heard that they dont put the trans all the way into gear (from another evo owner) just wondering where and how hard it is to put the stock back on thanks

It is not that hard to put the orginal back, about 1 hr probably. But I have a works short shifter, the 30% reduced throw one and love it. I have not had any problems.

 

What is a Good Short Throw Shifter to buy? or any one recommend for an Evo 8 ?

 

I'd say get a stock one and a counterweight knob.
