TT problems

I just bought the hks type 0 TT and the harness, this is the first thing i have ever installed on the car or well much less any car for that matter. the harness fit perfectly, and i went off the write up on lancershop and took all of those steps. I finally got it hooked up, reconnected the battery cable and set the timer up. The only problem is that it just shuts off whenever i turn the car off. I made sure i grounded the cable, but in the write up it stated it was not necessary to use the parking brake kit(the grounded to a radio bolt). Any suggestions?

I've never hooked up one without the parking brake wire, but it sounds like that's a place to start. Why would you not hook up the parking brake wire? That's what prevents someone from hopping in and riding off while the timer is running.

Either way, maybe the parking brake wire isn't grounded well enough?

Otherwise, make sure the timer is supposed to stay on. Set it to a manual countdown mode if you haven't done that already.

Good luck with the issue.

Why would you not connect to the e-brake? That's gotta be the problem.

Same thing happened to me I had everything hooked up except the ebrake wire. And I was testing it to make sure it worked and it kept shutting off on me. So I got fed up and just wired the ebrake wire and called it a day and of course it worked then. Long story short if you have the ebrake wire in the TT but nou connected to the car it won't work. The ebrake wire you splice under the center console.

Glad to hear you had only minor problems. When I did mine with a friend, two little springs came out of something behind the ignition and he told me I didn't need them. After that, my keyless entry wouldn't work and I was getting that ding ding noise whenever the door was open without the keys in the ignition. Keep everything!
