Better brands of gas?

This may be the only difference, but it made a huge difference on my car back before I was running e85. Switching from cheap gas (Diamond Shamrock nka Valero) to Chevron netted me 20 whp, same day and dyno. The cheap stuff was much more knock prone.

If you have a turboed car, I would stick with only Top Tier Gasoline. These are standards set by a group of auto manufacturers for the number and quality of detergents included in gas and insure you get the best gas.

Now, for any car that requires 87, I buy the cheapest possible. However, I still notice more knock with the cheaper stuff.
