Looking for advise on 04 evo

Hi everyone. I have been reading info on this forum on and off for a while. My local Mitsu dealer has a 04 Evo for sale, asking $23,9 for it. The car looks perfect, has not been molested with any mods, and has 11.5 on the odo. Not sure what the balance of warranty is yet but will find out in a few hours when i test drive it. The color is black. I have wanted an Evo and think now might be a great time to pick one up if the dealer cooperates. Any opinions on the price would be great, thanks in advance.

Just because it looks unmodded doesn't mean it wasn't at one point. I know guys that trade in their EVO's with built motors!...which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.

As long as the dealer is backing it you should be fine.

sounds like a descent price.. you can allways go to cars.com and see how much are evos in your area... since it's 2004, you still have 1 year manufacturers warenty..anything breaks, go back do the dealer free of charge untill sept 08... unless it's a part that wears off like wipers, tires, pads and etc.

Well I went and saw the Evo. It was perfect! Not a scratch on it, unreal. The sales guy told he the car was purchased at that dealership, new, by an "older" couple. Maybe he is right, with its condition and miles, kinda makes sense. BUT, i walked out when he told me the lowest price was going to be 23.4. Funny how an hour later he called me and said he could lower the interest rate on the loan. I checked the NADA value, an Evo, that year, 12K, and great condition, has a high retail of 22.3. I told him that today and said it was up to them if they want to sell the car. So the game continues. But I'm willing to bet that in another two weeks, if it doesn't sell, they will deal. The truth is, is that I want to join the Evo community, and I will. If they don't deal, screw'em, I'll just wait and find another one or a used MR!

A buddy of mine traded in his built Evo to a used car lot after taking off the bolt-on stuff, and a few weeks later, someone went to look at it, and the dealership was disclosing it had "an idle issue" that they couldn't resolve. We got a chuckle out of it, because the idle issue was the lopey cams he had left in it.

However, I've talked to a guy who was in his late 50's while we were gassing up who had bought his Evo as a summer cruiser (a black '04, too - what are the odds?) and was leaving it stock. I can't imagine there were too many of those types of customers, but it does happen. Good luck w/ the wait.

My New Evo

Unfortunately for the original poster...I purchased this car last night

I've also got an Intake/Exhaust 99 M6 Corvette which I may or may not keep...we'll see how the Evo treats me! I love everything about the car so far and look forward to being on the boards here...
