No Evolution yet. Like many are mentioning, get a 1G DSM. OR If your folks are wealthy; get a new Civic SI or 2005 Acura RSX Type S - as they are super-reliable and respond reasonably well to mods.

Good luck with your decision and be safe.

Be wise whatever you do. it's not just "how can i die" but who / how many others ya might take with ya.

Get something you can go ***** to the wall in all day but noone else knows the difference. I learned to drive stick in a '64 landrover that didn't have syncros in 1st or 2nd gear and you'd be going topspeed in 4th around 45mph (unless going downhill..60 was possible). My point is i had just as much fun driving a funky old safari rover as i do in the EVO. The only difference my fun in that wasn't going to hurt me as much physically or financially. I did notice hyenas started showing up in the neighborhood though.

Think with your brain and not with your EGO. don't get EVO for EGO.

Get what you want. I owned a 68 Camaro that ran high 11's when I was your age. Just remember to drive the car with respect and don't put others in danger. At your age all your buddies are going to want to go on death drives in the car and see you crash it. It makes good gosip at school. Use your head and don't show off to your friends and you should live well past 18 lol and have a great time owning an EVO. Do yourself a favor and save up and buy an 05 and newer EVO. I know a few dumb asses much older than you that drive their cars just as retarded as the typical young kid with a death wish.

I would say that a g1 or 2 awd would be a lot better for a beginner, you can mod them and make great power. If you go to you tube and type in Philly Dyno Day. Check out some of the cars and what power they make. You can make a lot of power and for a lot less money than you would spend on an evo.

here is the deal. all points are valid depending on how you look at it. get a slower car first get a fast car first whatever. the point is that you can get in just as much trouble/be foolish, or god forbid die in any car. there are wealthy people driving sports cars that have no business driving them and they are adults that have been driving for years. the fact is that a responsible driver will drive responsibly. regardless of the car. most cars will go fast enough to find your way into an accident. The real concern is that more inexperienced drivers young and old alike, either push passed their driving capabilities, or the cars capabilities. either way your in hot water. get whatever you want. just be responsible while you are out there.

No matter what we tell you, your still going to get what you want to get. Don't let you parents test drive it, then they'll never let you get one.

parents really need to drive the car. then they wouldn't be so quick to buy a 500hp evo for their 16 year old.
