FCC ID required for this?

Im looking to buy a pair of keyless entry fobs, but need some info. Does anyone know if the FCC ID number is required to match the original fob's ID???... cuz i don't have any fobs to begin with.

...OR... can i just purchase any keyless mitsubishi fobs and program them myself? I've already seen the "program it urself" thread but it didn't say whether or not you need a matching FCC ID

PLEASE HELP TIA

IT should be on the back of the remote fob. Did you take a look?

nope. Basically, the FCC ID is only saying Mitsu reserved a certain frequency range for use.
I just googled mine and it actually is used for a few different Mitsu models...

You just have to do the program sequence to "mate it" to your car.

I would suggest trying to get a code-hopping system installed. I watched a recent news report that said that someone could receive the signal for the code w/a machine, walk up to the car & resend that signal to the car, unlocking it. Code-hopping systems, do just like it suggests, making it harder, if not impossible to steal. The code is not the same each time.

As far as I know, it would have to be an alarm. Anything from DEI works http://www.directed.com/Products/Security/Default.aspx
Make sure it says things like this:
Clone-Safe® Code-Hopping®
6 Channel Security/Keyless Entry System (the more channels the better)

You can get a really good python for around $300.
