Evo Swap
Evo Swap
Has anyone around here considered or done an engine swap, taking out their OZ/ES/LS engine in replacement for an Evo Engine? I haven't really seen anyone talking about it.
Just for the record, I did a search..didn't find anything specific..so no fair flaming!

Holy ****, Do another search.
Thanks for the link and everything. i went ahead and re-did a search, "Evo Engine Swap" ( I dont see getting more specific than that) and you know what there was? Pages of more *******s telling everyone to do a search. I was just curious about it..so if u dont like the question ,dont f**ken post in the topic. Its not like these boards are moving fast, if you're having trouble keeping up with them, maybe you should check out some books from the library so you can go at your own pace.
You clearly saw the subject "Evo Swap", use some common sense and if you feel like its a waste of time, dont even open the topic, and let people who are interested look. Its not like I didn't post it in the "newbie" forum. Most other forums are lenient towards the newbie forums and reserve the petty *****ing for the more technical forums.
...but thanks again for the generous link, it WAS informitive.

Yeah I read up on it now..it would be completely not worth it. Now..this might have been covered too, but now that I'm already in my text window, I'll go ahead and type it anyway...
What are some common 1/4 mile times for a US lancer that has been souped up? This is including anything, I mean..is there really alot of potential, or would I be looking at spending thousands for a 15 second car?
Special note to you flamers: If its been covered..fine, before you "waste your time" replying to me, think about how much more time you could save by not putting your mouse over that reply button and clicking it..if you dont like my question, dont respond, its simple. I'll live. Save yourselves the stres.

well Boeturbolancer has spent a heafty amount but runs mid to high 13's in his lancer. So a 15 second lancer wont be that hard.
He as turbo and every goody to go with it from RRM including forged pistons etc.
Now if you just want to go into the 15's a non-intercooled turbo at about 6 psi will probably get you there.
I also think people get off on telling others to search. I do tell people but I atleast try to give some tid bit to help their search.

) once again a matter of mounting, linkage, and of course MONEY. So I say yes it can be done, Is it cost effective NO
Shut up and search, Vince.
Axis, there's a large gap in performance and costs between what FI and bolt-ons will provide. 15's with bolt-ons would be fairly expensive and a difficult task (but doable with mild work and probably a couple grand in parts), whereas if you go FI you're skipping into the 14's and spending a grand or two more to start.
You pretty much have to make a goal (like it seems you've done), then figure out whether it's feasible (which you're doing), iron out the kinks on paper, and then g'head and do it. Knowing engine codes and terminology will help a lot in your searches. Don't be afraid to ask, but please do look first. If you don't have any luck try a couple other terms if you can think of them. Anywho, you're off to a good start. Best of luck.

thats pretty cool..thanks Guru and Hobie, ..I'm sure I'll be around here plenty with plenty of questions.
..also, I'm completely fine with reasonable responses, Its lack of logic that's one of my pet peeves, and like I was saying, it doesn't seem logical to me to get irritated by someone's question, if you dont wanna answer it dont answer it. All message boards seem to have those people tho. anyways..thanks for being informitive.
