Cobra to Evo X - am I nuts???
Again, thanks to all that have replied to my post. If you read my post, it's pretty much a done deal with me getting the Evo, I pick it up tomorrow.
One poster said my question was pointless and shouldn't be on here because it's an Evo forum. Well, that's exactly why I posted it here. I've had a mustang for the past 5 years. I know all about them. I wanted to hear from Evo owners to get an idea of what I was getting myself into. I understand most posters are going to say the Evo's are great and better than the mustang in many way's. I guess the question was really a rhetorical one, I was just trying to introduce myself, and get some type of comfort from other Evo owners that I am doing the right thing. Also, if you didn't like my post, why are you replying to it. To me it was not a pointless post and I appreciate the input I have received. I don't want to seem like an a@#, either, but give me a break. It was my first post and I get slammed---WELCOME TO THE FORUMS Chris
Sorry, maybe I'm just in a bad mood today.
Now that I have gotten that off of my chest, I do not have any kids, so don't have to worry about that.
Can't wait to start modding it. On another thread, I saw the video of a great sounding exhaust. The company works with the dealership I am getting the car from and that will be one of the first mods I do. It will be interesting to see how I can mod this car. The mustang had SO MUCH that was available. I did a few things, like basani cat backs, aftermarket shifter, K& N filter, and some appearance stuff.

Haha, don't mind the people on here. They think since they're not talking to their mom they can talk however they want. Just ignore the rude comments. Welcome to the Evo community. I doubt you'll be dissappointed. It shouldn't take much and you can be faster than your cobra no problem. No dissin the ford. Good Luck!
Good luck on the EVO. Coming from the '03 Cobra, I an say this is definitely a way better handling car, hands down, mods wise I feel as if they take to power adders the same, with arms wide open. Especially the Evo X. Aloha.
Congrats on getting the Evo. I've been wanting an 03-04 Cobra forever. I had contemplated getting rid of the Evo for one, but I could never bring myself to do it. I love it too much. 24-7 fun, all four seasons! Enjoy the Evo and welcome to the forum. I'd say keep the Cobra, even if it's cursed, and pick up the Evo too! You'll probably miss the whine of the blower, but the whistle of the turbo should comfort the pain nicely! Along w/ smoking that damn VW Rabbit!
A word or two of advice since your going to be modding the car.
The Evo X is new and the motor/turbo in this model is completely different than say the Evo 8 RS I own. Hence the aftermarket parts are still catching up to the world for this car. I would humbly suggest you stand back for at least 3-4 months and wait for the dust to settle in that world.
You appear to live extremely close to Buschur which is a well respected shop here for aftermarket parts. The Buschur shop is apparently by Cleveland which is pretty close to Dayton (3 hours) 180miles. Due to your extreme closeness you could probably visit in person the shop and see for yourself if you want to do business.

good thing you didn't get the x....the ix/viii is kind of a tuner boy car and a 38 yr old man driving on...meh....congrats on the purchase thought, would love to see some pice of the cobra and the x
Awesome choice!I went from a 98 cobra convert to a 91 talon then to a 97talon and hopefully to an evo soon. Why doesn't mitsu have a convert x ? If they did it would be sweet. Good choice, great car. Converted from the blue oval to awd. That is sweet winter driving in the making.
