I live in Montana, so I can tell you my X (all of 4 weeks) is a bit worse than my previous 99 Scooby in the snow. But, that's with the stock Evo tires. Might as well call them slicks. A separate set of winter tires should fix that nicely (that should be pasted on your drivers door). Above all else, test the handling. I took Jawz (Apex Silver X) on a ride through some serious twisties and straights back roads with no oncoming traffic. Posted 45mph twisties are a lot of fun at 90mph. Evo IX/XIII owners on this site will squeak about straight line quickness, but don't buy it. This car has incredible curb appeal and enormous performance. Welcome...

Thanks! Some of the negative talk about the X seems to be sour grapes. I want a car that has technology, is comfortable and can get on it if I want it to. I can't wait until I get some miles on the engine and I can really see what this thing can do

The snow tires will help with driving in the snow, but even without them it's a whole lot better than the cobra!! I would rather buy 4 snow tires than another car to drive in the winter. Honestly, the only thing I can see me missing is the convertible!! It was warmer today and sunny and I missed being able to drop the top I think that will pass the first time I get on an autocross course

Anyone here really tested the handling? I challenged it considerably and I am incredibly impressed. In, out, short, tight. Wow...

Welcome to the dark side. I beat the crap out of 605 HP cobra with my EVO so you made a good switch. Unfortunately my car is sold and will be shipping out soon. For your EVO needs, just check out Buschur Racing. They built my car and many others. So be sure to check them out they are a great bunch of guys that will help you out with the X if needed.

Congrats. I have grown up around fords all my life as well. Infact, I went form a 1988 5.0 Mustang GT with t-tops to an EVO 8 about 2 1/2 years ago. Best change I've made. I love the power of AWD turbo, the superb handling, and yes, the better gas mileage. lol. Sometimes I miss the V8 RWD, but after seeing the way gas prices are rising, I miss it less and less. lol.

the only cobras in my book were 03-04s , and if you don't know why... for shame.. but gas is a killer of all things we call cars now adays so my evo will not get closer to the 500 mark instead... i'll most likely by another gsxr
