don't go with AEM, go with HKS F CON V PRO, you can go vta with this ecu, and the car will start and idle like stock.

also, why not just buy an APS twin vent bov, it vents partial to the open under full boost, and yes, get a cone filter along with APS twin vent bov, you will hear it loud and clear with no stalling issue. there is a write up by mellon, just search "APS mellon"

I happen to have a brand new APS bov for sale if you want.

Not exactly. Please keep in mind switching to a stand alone ECU is not a 'bolt-on'. Most stand alones require wire harness conversion unless it's "plug and play", extra sensors, custom tuning, dyno time, non obd2 compliance (vehicle may not pass inspection), drivability issues as a result of changing to a stand alone (AEM slow start for example). Also, if you do decide to go stand alone, please dont choose which one based on a random member's recommendation. People on this board often recommend stuff they have no personal experience with.

I think switching to a stand alone ECU so that you can run a VTA blow off valve would be a ridiculous thing to do. Just run a recirculated bov or a cone type filter that will enable you to hear the stock diverter valve.

stock ecu + aps twin vent works fine but if you're looking for something ricey the aps twin vent isn't what you want, it sounds pretty tame (which is what I like personally)

I have had my car both ways VTA and now recirculated. When i got the car it had a hks VTA and ran like crap. Now I am running evo 9 valve with injen intake and i/c piping..It is still pretty loud and runs 100% better

I've got a forge 1g style bov, and a custom intake pipe with BR filter, and my pssh sound is loud as crap. Sometimes it's annoying, but other times I like it as I psssh a T/A or SRT-4 going by.

It's my "Hi, wanna go" mechanism. LOL

Yes it is. I only ran VTA when I first bought my Evo, as the previous owner was running a greddy Type-s valve like that. Car stalled and ran like crap.
