hks ssqv bov vta?

hks ssqv bov vta?

i am planning on buying a bov for my evo8 and want to know if i get the hks ssqv bov with a tune and ecu reflash and run the bov "vta" will my car run fine? or will it stall and idle bad? i am going to run all buschur racing stage 3 parts-race fmic and upper and lower ic piping, air intake and filter,manual boost controller,turbo-back exhaust with bullet muffler,megan o2 housing,kelford 272 cams. does anyone have aftermarket mods and a tune or ecu-reflash with the hks bov "vta" and how does their car run? thanks

A lot of people don't like these and say you have driveability issues. I haven't really noticed most of what people say, though you do get a rich spike when you shift. But, i may be selling mine...pm me if you are interested.

It was pretty straight forward for install. If you are running it in the stock piping you will need to plug the tube on the intake pipe. I found a plug at the local ace. Then you just need to run a vacuum line.

I know a lot of people dont like them has issue with the car running right the tune may help a little i know a kid who had one said he had no issue.
but you can try it if you dont like it you sell it or get a kit to fix it.


and does any one know how well they work on sd

im gunna recirc it but how would i install is as my evo 9 mr bov is now connected to my stock uicp with a hose to the bov that sits in the intake

i ordered the hks ssqv3 bov plus uicp so it goes directly on the uicp where do the hoses go? this is gunna be so confusing for me, this is the only thing idont understand about this car the vacuum hoses ha

There's a reason ak47po gave that answer. Do a search on here, there's a sh*tload of threads about this BOV, most of them discouraging its use by anyone interested in reliable performance or peak performance of an Evo. Don't hate, just sayin'...

did you order the bov yet? you have a quality list of parts there for sure.

how much boost are you going to be running? are you going just for performance or for both performance and sound?

depending on power goals and boost you can run a 9 diverter valve without problems. Tial is another great option. Turbosmart dual port recirc/vta gives you a great balance of both sound/holding boost.

the ssq tends to have problems holding boost and driveability issues if it is VTA. then again if you convert to SD that changes everything. plenty of options, you can always ask one of the companies your ordering from for their advice as well. best of luck with the mods!

ordered it already should be here first thing tomorrow morning... i was told its recirc from a vendor on here, boston motorsports which is where i purchased it from. How would i make it recirc? im installing it tomorrow so if anyone could explain how to do this it would be greatly appreciated!

im on a fp green hta73 turbo with 25 psi i have used a evo 9 mr bov and they keep leaking.

im looking for both performance and sound. im looking to get to the range of 450 hp 400 wtq IF I KEEP THE CAR as its for sale.

It will look similar to this, but you will have a flange right on the uicp for the bov and then a recirc pipe will run to your intake pipe.
