engine swap

wouldn't it be cheaper and save time to swap engines (OZ owners) if you plan on speding for than a grand and going past 160 HP?

and what engine are you going to swap?
I dont' think there are any easy swaps right now.
because of transmission and exhaust side if I remember correctly.

maybe when the rallyart edition of the lancer comes out.

and just so ya know... the oz and the es/ls models... all have the same inside the engine bay.

other mitsubishis

where can i find out more about this rallyart i hear? if it's the same engine as an OZ, maybe we can use it's stock parts to get up to a decent HP and then mod it from there if you'd want to go further.
isn't there a 6 cyclinder mitsubishi? what size and HP does the eclipse have?
the transmission will eventually need to be upgraded anyways from what i hear; after going past 180-200 HP.
or, hey, what about the twin turbo-charged supra engine. you can get a rebuilt one for about the same cost as a lancer aftermarket turbo and the supra's engine is like 400HP.

Is it really that much trouble to search?

All Lancers (02-03) have the same 4g94 engine under the hood.

You can go to the website to see the Ralliart Lancer specs.

The 3g eclipses have v6 engines in them, but as with all engine swaps so far, especially with your Supra TT swap idea , the main cost will be in fitting it into the engine bay and wiring it up.

That last comment alone about the Supra engine means you should definitely invest some time researching.

The supra is RWD. Good luck trying to be cost effective.

Most Mitsubishi were not built to be swap-friendly, therefore, the cost factor and difficulty would most likely be killing such a project for most average income people. That's why you didn't heard a whole of of swap story for Mitsu, unlike Honda/Acura and Nissan...

Aside from that, with enough money, you can pretty much do ANYTHING to your car.

I'll simply reiterate what ghost and Lan said and throw in the fact that the 6G72 from the 3G's is waaaaay to big to cram into the Lancer bay and the weight distribution alone would be like driving a Del Sol with the massive H22 in the front.
