^Yeah, 13.0 quarter mile stock is pretty slow. I'm sure that Mirage would murder a stock evo at the strip. Seriously though, Evos are not made to race from rolling starts on the highway (that's for Supras and single cam Mirages). Evos are meant to go like snot AND turn at the same time.

Coming from a guy who owns BOTH a single cam Mirage and an Evo (that was once stock) I know this to be true I never said the Mirage would beat it in the quarter, but from a roll it's defiantly faster than a STOCK Evo.

The Civic would defiantly play catch up from a dig, but would probably walk it from a roll. 300whp Civic is not too shabby at all

Trust me, I'm not into straight line racing. I have the same "Evos are meant to go like snot AND turn at the same time" mentality as you. I'm just saying the Civic will walk it from a roll.

sorry man, didn't mean to come across like an ***. well, yeah i did but i guess i just didn't understand your comment about a stock evo not being that fast. a 13.0quarter is pretty fast stock, modded, evo, or whatever. the evo is definately not geared to be quick from a roll but if your 200hp mirage runs anywhere close to that time i'll be shocked. but your definition of fast is a 20-100mhp race? sorry bro, i'm just trying to understand...

It's all about trap speeds. A stock Evo traps about 100mph. A 300whp Civic SHOULD trap 110mph+ So in reality the Evo may get to the line faster, but the Civic is ACTUALLY the faster accelerating car.

My Mirage would certainly NOT run a 13.0 ET. But it will trap 100mph. Meaning, typically from a roll, it will keep pace with a stock Evo.

Either way, its not a big deal. I was just stating my opinion. Not really trying to start a heated discussion

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my EP. It's my first car and I love everything I've done to it. It's a quick little hot hatch! Some people on here can't seem to respect other cars besides their own. I just wanted to get out of the limits of fwd and tmaybe get into auto-x or something aside from the drag strip.
Yes, you will see a lot of people (not just Evo guys) who think their car is the "know all/end all" of cars. It's mainly because they don't have any experience with other cars, have never been to a track, or think that a "win" in a street race is an indication of what their car can really do. But the attitude is not just endemic to Evo drivers. I read a lot of other forums, and so far everyone has the best looking, fastest, and most reliable car.

If you can pick up an Evo, I would say to give it a try. I came from a highly boosted SC application also and I have fallen in love with turbos.

No worries man, I was just questioning your statement. It's all clear and makes sense now. I'm just so used to comparing "quickness" with 1/4 mile times, 60 ft. times, and 0-60 times. But I totally get what yer saying about trap speeds.
