stock muffler question

i just bought an 2006 evo IX SE and a lot of people keep telling me to unbolt the stock muffler out to get a little bit of gains. I think that if you do that you just going to lose hp. Can any of you guys bless and inform me on it. im pretty sure that is going to make it loud but other than that nothing else.

thanks

Buscher sells a nice muffler delete. I didnt really notice a difference to much in sound. Turbos and cats do a nice job of muffling.

I'm not an owner or an Evo yet but general car knowledge tells me it will be louder and free up a couple of hp at best.

If you want to remove the stock muffler, get a Works AB and do it right. I have one for sale [cheap] if you're interested.
